When tent camping, I think an air mattress makes all the difference in the world. Buy a nice one that has a built in pump so it will automatically inflate and deflate. Bring a cozy blanket and a pillow and you'll be all set.
Much cheaper than a new tent.
Have fun!
References :
I saw someone once that brought there gear in a small utility trailer. Then they set up the most unusual tent space I have ever seen. The tent was very big, but it is what they did on the inside that was unique. They brought a blowup bed that sat as high off the ground as a regular bed. Then they brought end tables, lamps that used batteries, and a portable closet and a throw rug too. It looked just like a regular bedroom. it was amazing.
References :
All tents have bottoms that keep you off of the grass and most have rain flies to keep the rain off. If you have water on the inside of your tent, that is condensation from your breath, not rain. There are luxury tents, but to get it for one camping trip sounds a little pointless. The point of camping is to "rough it", not go on a vacation (I shouldn't really say that, since some camps are a vacation, but not normally spent in tents).
References :
Are there any "luxury" camping tents out there?
ugh! I hate camping and every year our school makes the class go on a "bonding trip" in the "great outdoors...gag. Are there any tents out there that aren't actually tents? haha...well, are there any luxury tents or anything that keeps me off the grass...and actually protected from the weather?
